FAQ

How can I join AUNC?

We're always looking for new members! Keep an eye on our social media pages or join our mailing list for updates.

Championship league: winter season registrations usually open around February, with trials being held in early March. For summer, keep an eye out for details on how to nominate in August.

Our mixed social competition follows the uni semesters and registration is usually in February.

How much are AUNC Fees?

As a not-for-profit club, we strive to keep our fees as affordable as possible. Fees vary by season and competition, and we provide updated costs annually. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need more information.

In addition to club fees, for insurance purposes players must also purchase an Adelaide University Sport membership. This lasts for one calendar year - e.g. if you play in winter and summer comps, social comp in semester one and two, or both championship and social comps, you only pay the membership fee once.

AU Student Membership: $11 (For Adelaide University students only)
University Membership: $71.50 (For staff, Adelaide University graduates, UniSA graduates, and other university students)
Associate Membership: $93.50 (For those who have no link to a University)

Do you offer payment plans?

We sure do! If you think you'll have trouble paying your fees on time, have a chat to our treasurer (netballtreasurer@adelaideunisport.com.au) and we can sort out a payment plan for you.

Do I have to go to Adelaide Uni or be a student to play for AUNC?

No! Anyone can play for AUNC and we have many members from all walks of life!

Where do you play?

Our championship (women’s) competition is played at SA United Church Netball Association (SAUCNA) on Saturday afternoons during winter, and on Wednesday nights during summer.

Our social mixed competition plays at Pridham Hall at the City West Campus (215 Hindley Street) on Wednesday nights.

When do you train?

Our championship players train during the winter season only on Tuesday nights at SAUCNA.

Our summer women’s competition and social mixed competition players do not train.

I haven't played netball before/in a long time, can I still join?

If you haven’t played in a while you can absolutely join! For beginners our social mixed competition is the best option, as it caters to a wide range of abilities and both men and women can join. The focus is on having fun and playing netball with friends.

For those with playing experience, we field teams in a range of divisions in our women’s championship competition from A to D grade, and will do our best to fit you into a team that suits your skills and ability.

How much do uniforms cost?

Championship league - the only compulsory part of our uniform is the netball dress, which is usually around $75. Netball dresses can ONLY be ordered through the club at the start of each season.

Social league - please wear whatever clothing you are comfortable playing in! Shorts, t shirts/singlets, and comfy running shoes are recommended.

Club merchandise (hoodies, jackets, drink bottles, and more) is available to purchase at any time from our online MACRON store.

Do you have social events during the year?

Absolutely! We love to have fun and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment both on and off the court - we host pub crawls, quiz nights, team and training dinners, presentation nights, Bunnings barbecues, and Suncorp Super Netball watch nights! Check out our events page and our socials for more info.

Can I enter my own team?

Yes - in our social mixed competition, AND in our summer women’s championship competition.

In winter we hold trials and players are placed into teams by our selectors.

Is training compulsory?

In winter training is compulsory as it is vital to team and skill development. However, we understand that life happens! If you’re unable to attend training you should communicate this to your coach/team with as much notice as possible so coaches can plan accordingly.

Our social mixed competition and our summer women’s competition do not hold trainings.

What grades do you play in?

Our women’s championship league fields teams in a range of grades, usually ranging from A2 to D4 at the SAUCNA competition.

Our social mixed competition is suitable for all abilities, including complete beginners.
